Javier Salamanca

Javier was inspired to join Voces when he saw a cross section of Sunset Park parents organizing to address elementary school overcrowding together. He has lived in the Sunset Park area for over 30 years and is a parent to 3 children who attend local public schools. Javier is passionate about amplifying and elevating the voices of working class immigrant families in his community.  Javier has supported Voces in various roles: organizer, workshop facilitator, fundraiser, among others. Being part of Voces has allowed him to meet new people and make collective change.
